Lakeside, a History
Since 1870, God has used this congregation
to give glory and service to the Lord. Centered in Jesus
Christ, we seek to be a place where all will know their
inestimable worth through the touch of God's grace and
thereby find a place of kinship, service and worship.
Many try to find a place for themselves
in this factious world. Our church is a lively community
of believers who lead with love. Central to our purpose
is that you would find an unconditional acceptance, an
inviting and inclusive community where needs are met,
Our ultimate hope is that all will know the joy of loving
and serving Jesus Christ as Lord - and the assurance of
knowing Him as Savior. We invite you to share with us
in the experiences of faith.
Wherever you have come from, there's
a place for you at Lakeside!

What is a Presbyterian?
Reformed
Faith
The Presbyterian Church (USA) expresses the faith of the
Reformed Tradition. Central to this tradition is the affirmation
of the majesty, holiness, and providence of God who creates,
sustains, rules and redeems the world in sovereign love.
The election of the people of God for service as well
as for salvation is God's doing, according to God's sovereign
rule, and God's unmerited, unconditional love for us.
We believe
in one God in three persons: Parent, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The eternal God was incarnate in Jesus Christ. In the
crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ there is
the assurance of God's victory over sin and death and
the promise of God's continuing activity in the world.
God's redeeming and reconciling work continues through
the power and presence of the Holy Spirit who calls us
to repentance, unmasks idolatries in the Church and in
culture, reminds us of all Christ has promised, empowers
and equips the Church, and seals us as Christ's own.
We believe
the Church, of which Jesus Christ is the head.
Our mission is to assist the church family in clarifying
and understanding the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In learning
the Word of God, we will come to understand that we are
reconciled to God because of the life, death and resurrection
of Jesus Christ.
God's redeeming and reconciling activity
in the world continues through the presence and power
of the Holy Spirit, who confronts individuals and societies
with Christ's Lordship of life and calls them to repentance
and to obedience to the will of God. |
